The brief

Chivas Brothers contacted Barum & Dewar with an urgent request for support - they required an aluminium case fitted with custom designed internal foam to hold two Ballantine’s bottles and a crystal decanter with its own presentation box. They had existing drawings of the bottle and a sketch of the presentation box but crucially needed the finished case in Glasgow within two weeks to meet a deadline for a presentation event. Having worked with Chivas Brothers since 2014 on a number of prestigious presentation case projects, the team had an excellent understanding of the requirement and were well placed to deliver on this project.

The solution

The B&D team reacted quickly, initiating the design and case selection, sourcing the preferred aluminium case from Germany and arranging its immediate shipment via express courier. At the same time, they organised samples of the bottles and decanter to be shipped direct to our dedicated foam facility where these would be used to carry out final fit check inspections.

The designs for the foam inserts were submitted and approved by the Chivas Brothers team before being programmed ahead of the case arriving. When the case arrived from Germany the foam was fitted, inspected and then packed for overnight courier to Glasgow. The B&D team successfully achieve a revised delivery deadline that had been brought forward whilst the project was progressing. This meant delivery was made within 10 days because the case was needed sooner than originally specified.
